I had the pleasure of building a relationship with my dear friend Sterling Toles while he was working on two separate albums that he put over a decade of time into. There astonishing bodies of work and during that time when I asked him when he was going to put the music out he would simply reply “The process is the promised land.“ For years that's hung around my neck like a fucking albatross. I’ve tried to apply his truths with my own experience but if I’m being brutally honest it became an excuse for me to hide behind. It gave me a way to mask my fears. In my 20 years of making music, I’ve never released a single thing.

The music on this album is me at my most vulnerable. Although its over six years old hearing it now is like hearing it for the first time. It was recorded, written and produced with my brother Cameron Falsetti (Chanes) who none of this would be possible without.

These records are more akin to chants than raps and more emotional time capsules than songs. There at times painful reminders of heartbreak yet simultaneously beautiful memories. The power of birth, the beauty of fatherhood, the innocence of childhood.

This is ceremony music. It's unfinished. As unfinished as my work as a father. Releasing 1:08 is more out of catharsis than for you to hear the idea of some finished version that exists in my head that I could never bring myself to record.

Releasing this is a goodbye and a celebration of life and the elasticity of love. It's still in process.

Dedicated to my son Omi who turns 6 years old today. Love you papa
